Wynton Marsalis (1988)

A tour de force for Marsalis, who through the magic of multi-track recorders plays as many as eight different trumpet lines in a single piece. The English Chamber Orchestra is unobtrusive under the baton of Raymond Leppard. The selection includes Vivaldi, Telemann, von Biber and - not surprising given the era - Pachelbel.
