Neil Gaiman (2001)

In a recent survey of what was new and happening in Science Fiction, Neil Gaiman's name stood out, for good reason. This widely acclaimed author of graphic novels (aka comic books) has a winner with this tale of America's lack of mythos, and the mythological creatures who followed the immigrants to America's shores, only to be forgotten.

A shining example of that rare creature, a well-written, well-researched and enjoyable fantasy story.
