Gary F. Moring (2000)

Moring has the unenviable task of teaching Physics to non-Physics majors at university. The book reads accordingly, as if Moring has just dressed up his lecture notes a bit (including the jokes).
I picked up this book to help me to explain some of these concepts to Joseph when he asks about them. Apart from a rather insensitive (to those of us living in Japan) recurring graphic, the book should be a good aid to me.
